Farewell Adgitize

First of all i would like to bid farewell to adgitize. Adgitize was a great platform. As a publisher i never cashout from adgitize, but as an advertiser adgitize do help me to cashout from one of make money tweeting program in late 2009, i remember promoting the referral program of the third party twitter advertiser network which converts quite well.

Year 2010 was a very hectic year for me in term of blogging. Not enough time. That was the main factor why I am not doing very well in 2010 compared to 2009. The situation lead me to buy two books entitled How to Simplify Your Life and Work Less, Achieve More. But that is different story. This year hopefully i can focus more on blogging.

As a publisher, the good thing about adgitize is that adgitize award points for writing a blog post. Its not much but it can be considered a passive income since I'll be updating my blog anyway. One of my objective in blogging this year is to cashout from Adgitize, but sadly adgitize will no more be operating.

Time to look for a new advertising network for this blog. Will Ken come out with new blog advertising network? Let just wait and see. I wish good luck for Ken for any incoming project.

My Gadget Impian is iPhone 4S. In this blog post I'm going to tell you why I want iPhone 4S.

1. SIRI

The main reason why I want this iPhone 4S is because of SIRI. Yes that virtual assistant, secretary called SIRI.

I am using Galaxy Ace, I tried out the Speaktoit assistant which I think is pretty cool. I want to know SIRI too. Processing voice is harder compared to text processing. You can say that I am in love with this technology.

My friend @HafeezHana - a photographer said that in term of graphic Iphone is a better compared to other smartphone products. I like taking random photograph using my Galaxy Ace. Maybe with iPhone 4S I can take better photo.

iPhone 4S also can stand for iPhone for Steve. Steve Jobs inspired many - including me. Here I am going to share again my favorite Steve Jobs speech.

It will be nice to have a product by inspiring people.

The main problem right now is that iPhone is more fragile and I am super Clumsy.

But..... I still want an iPhone 4S. Maybe I will be less clumsy?

Spritzer Mini Dispenser

I am thinking of getting this Spritzer Mini Dispenser. It will save my time to drink good quality water. Instead of boiling water and keep the water inside a jug to wait for it getting cooler. It is much better to have a dispenser.

This is an important news for blogger friends, especially those who make money blogging. According to search engine land. Google will penalize Ad Heavy Page this of course include blogs.

An excerpt from the post

The head of Google’s web spam team, Matt Cutts, shared the news when speaking at the Pubcon conference today.

Cutts said Google is testing algorithms that determine ”what are the things that really matter, how much content is above the fold.”

Adding further, Cutts warned:

“If you have ads obscuring your content, you might want to think about it,” asking publishers to consider, “Do they see content or something else that’s distracting or annoying?” - searchengineland

I do realize that there are many blog that are full of ads until a level that there are more ads than content. If your blog are like that. Its time to remove some advertisement.

By having lesser ads in blog, you can focus more on other optimization factor like placement, colour, etc. For adsense blogger, its not an issue. Since the more ads unit you have the more irrelevant ads are displayed.

Sometimes there are a lot of question coming in my head.. which requires answer.

Can I make some money from blogging?
Can I make money from domain?
Can I make money from my old blog?
Can I make money by simple job like commenting in others blog?
Can I make money by tweeting?
Can I make money by tweeting less?
Can I make money by sharing link?
Sometimes new technique pops up in my mind.. can it be implemented?

and many more question...

The question that requires answer by experimenting. I can read other people technique and copy it but i ended up customizing all the technique to suit my schedule and style. Getting the answer as a proof of concept is really rewarding for me!

About achievement

Most of my experiment achieved the target of proof of concept which in product development can be said as an early prototype. Nothing to show off to others but only few close friends.

But in doing experiment there are a lot of failures too before achieving it. The failures that make you feel that achieving some target are really priceless and rewarding experience.

About Report

While i achieved some of experiment target, i have the problem in reporting. I never have e book to show off my result. In fact I do not save the data completely. I get the knowledge which is good but i have to keep it to only me myself.

I do regret and feel upset after realizing the potential of the result of the experiments. Okay. I do actually realize the potential from the start, but my laziness and procrastinating habit are hindering me from writing it. I do regret it.

With this in mind i am now recording the result of my experiment. Hopefully it will be helpful to me and maybe i can share with you too when i have the acquired result.

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Stay thirsty too! Yes I can feel that I am thirsty to know more and more, to experiment more and more.

I am also hungry and thirsty right now, LITERALLY. Ah! It will be great if I have Spritzer Mini Dispenser at Home!

Micro Niche Blog

Having a niche blog is good. I made a few niche blog until on time i feel that I cannot catch up with my blogs.

I try to make a niche blog based on twitter. However it does not work well to me. The main reason is because the topic are too broad and too fast. I can follow the topic, and latest new in my niche but to write requires time. Sometimes there are few news to be covered. Having a niche blog which are not up to date is basically not very good practice.

Now I'm focusing on niche blog which are not too fast and very specific. The visitor maybe not very high since it is too focused, but I believe it will converts very well.

Many people says that, if you want to be successful you need to learn from a successful person. However, one of my teacher teach me that "If you wanted to learn something, learn from everyone who is relevant to your interest"

Learn from everyone

if you want to be a millionaire, you can find a successful famous millionaire as a mentor OR you can also make friends with all silent millionaire. Its up whether you are compatible or not. Its depend on which type of millionaire you wanted to be, the famous one or the silent one.

That does not mean that if you choose to learn from one type, you cannot learn from the other type. You should learn from everyone relevant. In fact, many great person can be made as you aspiration. They are all very successful person. But ask yourself again, can you relate yourself to them? If yes, congratulation. If NO, its still okay since you can still learn something valuable from them.

The late Steve Jobs as example, a design perfectionist. If you are a perfectionist , the "perfectionist" part of Steve Jobs are related to you. But for me that part is a NO. The part on how he view life is a YES for me

Knowledge is everywhere

There are a time in my life a have a debt problem, not my debt but others which use my name. Yes. Backstabbing is a painful experience, but i learnt a lot from what happened. Bank keep calling me every month. It make me stressed.

I asked for help, not asking to give me money but knowledge.

I asked a few friends in middle income category that look quite successful in managing money. They tried to help, showing a few solutions, but I am not able to 'feel' it. I met a few friends who can be categorized in Lower Salary category. Amazingly, I learn a lot more from them. The way they solve problem is different from the first set.

The middle income friends teach me on how to make loan, reinvest the loan and pay the debt too, which is relevant now, but not relevant to my state of mind that time. But the low income friends provide another solution to do small part time business based on current trends. The result? Starting with only RM180 , my financial situation back to normal and I even save (invest) some money, and bought a laptop.

It was a good lesson for me.

Heading Tag : H1 or H2 for post title ?

Change ( H1, H2 , H3 ... ) tag for blogger blog .. why?

The heading arrangement of your blog post are important not just because its look more structured but the search engine determine the keyword too.It may sound confusing at first since its related to SEO. Actually it is easy. Imagine you are writing a report for your assignment. The report of course have heading tag arrangment according to the chapters, section and subsection. It is easier to read. The same goes to the blog although writing a blog post is not as strict as writing reports.

For search engine, h1 is the priorirty follows by h2, h3 and so on. H1 is what the page is all about. The main topic, and the reason why the page is there.

H1 or H2 for post title?

There are question about whether should you use H1 or H2 for the post title? From what i understand by reading around is its depend on whether the blog is a niche blog or personal blog.

A niche blog can have the structure like this:

h1: Blog Title
h2 : Blog Post Title
h3: ...

The reason is that in the blog title for the niche blog itself is the keyword. The post tittle maybe contained the supportive keyword and other related keywords. When crawler visit a blog post it will first visit the blog title (main keyword) , follows by post title and so on.

You can see structure in my first attempt of changing header previous blog post on h2.

Heading Structure for personal blog / mixed-bag

h1 : Blog Post Title
h2: The sub heading in the content
h3: ..
h4: ..

this blog is using h1 for post title and h2 for subheading in content.

The h2 tags is not detected by SEO workers, but it is available in the source. Maybe u should use other tag analyzer tool?

In personal blog or mixed-bag style blog putting h1 for post title looks more logical, since you want the search engine to focus on the post title not the blog tittle. The problem with the second option is that in main page you may have a lot of h1 which can be a problem if it is overdid (over-optimize).

One way to reduce the h1 tags in main page is to reduce the amount of post shown on main page. Another way is to tweak the code so that in main page it will follow the First structure and for for the Post page it will follow the second one.

How to change the H tag for blogspot

This tutorial on how to change the H tag for blogger is a continuation of my post on changing H tag for better blogger SEO.Changing the H tag to suitable H tag is good for you blog SEO and make the blog look structured too. In the comment, shemah is asking on how to change the H tag for blogger, so this is how i do it.

Steps to Change the H tag

To change the H tag is easy. This is the way i do it to change to blog post title.

1. Go to blogger dashboard > Template > Click Edit HTML

2. Click Expand blogger template

3. Search for data:post.title ( this is post title , NOT data:title as mention in some blogs). Look for the h3 tag. Change it to h1 or h2.

4. Check/verify the H tag structure by visiting your blog and view source or by using SEOworker tool

5. If its not working you can try to enclose every data:post.title with h2 tag and save it again.

Enclosing data:post.title with h1 tag (or h2 if you want.. )

You can repeat the same procedure for widget title. Widget title datum is data:title.

I am now using h1 for post title, and h4 for widget title. h2 tag is used in the post content.

3 Main Steps To Pay Debt

I read a lot of book about financial planning especially on how to be free of debt. There are a lot of system available which can be very helpful. However when i look further, there are actually three main steps that help me in paying my debt.

1. Don't live in denial

Just accept the fact that you are in debt. Many people live in denial. They tend to ignore the fact that there are in debt.

2. The way to be free is to pay the debt

Do not complicate the matters, pay the debt and you are free of debt. You can go to more complicated financial planning to make loans in order to make more money to pay the debt. Whatever strategy you are using is up to you and make sure you know what you are doing as long as you pay suitable amount to decrease your debt amount.

3. Pay Yourself

No matter, do not spend every penny to settle the debt. You need to pay yourself and your family too. You need to save some money or better yet, invest it. Although first since its seems to be contradicted with point number 2. You need to pay yourself some money to give a feel that you have some money and to make you happy. Spending money just to pay the debt are surely not very demotivating. Sometimes you need to pay others in form of charity and gift too.

By having this three technique, you can keep yourself calm and avoid from being paralyzed because of the fear of the debt. The other techniques , complicated and easy technique are coming from these three steps. You track in order to be aware, you make schedule for the payment in order to pay the debt, and you plan you investment in order to pay yourself.

Part-Time Blogger - Are You Sure?

Are you sure you are a part time blogger?

.... a question part time blogger should asked themselves. Especially fulltime students and fulltime workers. Being a part time blogger means that you only blog during free time. You have another commitment like studying and doing assignment if you are student. If you are a worker which work from 8.00am to 5.00pm, your job became the priority.

Your Priority

Ask the question again and again and find your priority. Blogging as a passion is good, great, interesting, fun etc. But it is not your top priority. If you put priority in blogging more than it should be, it could means that you are actually more of a full time blogger.

Its time for you to prioritize!

Why do you need to prioritize between work or study and your so called part time blogging world? Simple, because one key to success is to focus. Its hard for you to excel in your study if during study time, your mind is thinking on how to get more traffic, optimizing SEO. The same goes for your blog. You cannot be so carefree writing blog post, while there are tons of works and past week assignment waiting to be completed.

Post Title with H2 tag for better blogger SEO

One problem in blogger is to optimize the h2 tag for blogger post. Initially the tag for blogger post title is h3. Last night i spend some time changing the html code of zulseffort.net. I tried most of the method available in the net as shared by other blogger buts its not working. Most likely because the tutorial are based on the old layout while my blogger template is using blogger template designer.

I forgot to print screen the initial of heading and phrase elements condition before changing the coding. But i managed to print screen the heading and phrase elements after taking some time tweaking the html code. The problem with blogger is that the h2-tags is used for the widget title not for blog post title.

After some changes in the HTML coding. This is the result.

The post title is now under h2 tags and the widget title is under h4 tags. However the changes in tags also changes the Font of the post title. The blog title font cannot be changed by using the Blogger Template. I can change it from the coding, but i prefer if it can be changed from Template Designer. Need some time to figure it out.

#OctTwtFest - Biggest Tweet-Up in Malaysia

#octtwtfest Venue and Goal

#OctTwtFest this year will be the biggest twtup event for Malaysia. The twtup will be held on 22 Oct 2011 starting 3.00 pm until 12.00 am. The venue is at:

Ah! Maybe if you never heard of foursquare you will not understand number #2 and #3 goal. Since I am not using foursquare too, i am not the best person to tell you about it.

I am not going

I am not interested in the concert, celebrity performance etc. However, from the given schedule, I can see there are special room for board games organized by #IHeartMalaysia which include many board games including chess and Dam Haji (Checkers). Meeting fellow tweeps while playing chess or especially Dam Haji will be great, right? Remembering myself of 20 years back 'spending time' playing Dam Haji for hours at Kedai Kopi (Coffee Shop). Haha!

My friend @HafeezHana a photogtrapher, is asking me whether i will be joining the #OctTwtFest or not. Sorry, I will not be joining it. I prefer to spend the weekend with my family.

Suggestion for Bloggers

My suggestion for those netreprenuer and bloggers who want to enjoy twtfest. Don't just go there for the fun purpose, make a cool bussiness card with your twitter handle and blog or website, this is the good time for you to do some 'offline marketing'.

Not A Perfect Blog ? Its Okay!

My Blog is Not A perfect Blog

I just changed the word under the header to "Not A perfect Blog" for a mean time or maybe it will be my permanent tagline for this blog just to remind myself that its not the perfection that I am looking for and perfection is not the pre-requisite for blogging.

Example of perfectionism in blogging

This is some of the example of perfectionism in blogging, you can make you own list if you want..

My post must have good grammars without spelling error or nobody will read my blog post
My blog must have a good header or nobody will visit my blog
My blog must be in par with top bloggers or nobody will visit my blog
etc .....

Waiting for the writing to be perfect is nonsense! This is not an essay examination. There are blogs with simple header but are very successfull in term of money making. There are also a lot of blog which is not a top blogger blog which are very successful.

About Strength and Weakness

There are thing in blogging that I am good at. There are also a lot of aspect that became my imperfection. I can write a little bit, throw great ideas, strong analytically and good with numbers but not in graphic design and how to make my blog look good, not in tweaking the blog layout and playing with colours.

One may say that, if you know your weakness improve it . If you do not know how to design, learn to design! While the statement is somewhat true, there are other factors need to be included. Improving the weaknesses take a lot of time and effort.

Luckily there are alternative, a good one! If you have weakness you can overcome the weakness by focusing on the strength. Let me give you two examples:

Some computer brand are not so good in term of quality, but their computers sells like "goreng pisang panas" because the brand are very good in advertising.
A local Malaysian internet marketer, make a lot of sales outside Malaysia selling ebook. Some ebook he wrote are not very good in grammar. He sells his brilliant ideas not the writing itself.

Of course it is better if you can improve your weakness at the same time focusing on your strength. You can take that as a bonus!

Acknowledging Imperfection

The statement "Not a Perfect Blog" is also to to acknowledge imperfections. What about you? Do you acknowledge your own imperfection.

I wish somebody make this kind of campaign 10 years back when I was going to apply for university. It was really hard to determine what I really want to do that time. Choosing courses was really confusing!

In twitter , tweeps are talking about iPhone 5 with the hashtag #letstalkiphone. From the tweets that i read. Many fan are upset. But many are going to buy too.

I am not into buying latest gadget. For me its either i need it or i am not. With the release of iPhone 4S instead of iPhone5 its kind of anti-climax because people are hoping for iPhone 5.

The S stand for Siri. A way to interact with your phone using just your voice. Now you can talk with your phone! Remember knight rider? Where the hero can talk to the car, and the car understand it?

Of course there will be more improvement in term of processing speed etc. If you want o know more, watch the video below to see the features of iPhone 4S. Will it be worth it for you to buy that one? You need to decide on your own.

Actually iPhone5 is already in market. It is invisible. Thats is why you cannot see it now. Ok apple fan, I am just joking okay. Watch the youtube video in my last post to see the awesome iPhone 5 invisibility features.

5 Reason why I am Using Facebook back after deleting my account

I am now using Facebook back after deleting my account. This time with a clearer purpose compared to the last time I registered. Telling the truth, I still do not like the culture in FB where people creating group to insult other people especially when there are group created to insult my religion, country, races or individual person. What is the purpose of me creating Facebook account this time?There are a few things that catch my interest to use FB this time. Here are some of it. <.br />

5 Reason Why I created facebook Account Again

1. Punchtab - I can get rewarded

One of the main reason why I am joining back facebook is because of Punchtab. Punchtab is an FB application where bloggers can give reward for their visitor based on their action like leaving comments, retweeting blog post, facebook like and many more. It means that as a visitor to my favorite blogs, I am getting the point for each action. The point can be later redeemed with prizes. This is the example of prizes that can be redeemed (taken from Denaihati.com)

It will be cool to get RM100 for visiting, commenting, retweeting blog post.You did that before anyway. The different is, this time you get rewarded.

2. Punchtab (again) - I can Reward my blog visitors too

I am planning to put punchtab at Zulseffort.com. Before, I am using contest to reward my visitor such as tweet and win contest and commenting contest. While orginizang contest is an interesting way of rewarding visitors, managing contest can be very exhausting. I only managed to organize very few contests. By using punchtab I can focus on the writing and punchtab have the mechanism to reward the loyal visitor. I only need to think about the prizes that I should give for point redemption or maybe to search for sponsors.

3. Connecting with local bloggers and twitter friends.

Just after registering to facebook, what I did is i added my blogger and twitter friends so that I can contact them easily. I prefer using twitter due to its simplicity. However the Direct Message in twitter is not favorable to many users and the main disadvantages is I cannot see whether the one I mention/DM is online or not. Since most of my twitter and blogger friends have facebook account, it will be a better decision for me to communicate with them via Facebook Chat.

4. Joining IM (Internet Marketer ) Group in facebook

We need to join the people who share the same interest in order to be successful. Bird of the same feather should flocks together. Internet Marketing is one of my favorite. If i do not love 8am - 5pm job right now, maybe I am going to be an IM. The best way to be in the community is to join related forum. However I am not in favor of using forum. I do register in a few forum but as a silent member. Hence one way for me to connect with the sifoo in local internet marketing arena is to join the facebook group. I am now a member of Kedai Kopi IM. Thanks to safwanseth for recommending it and thank you to the admin of KKIM for approving my membership.

5. I just feel that I want to create facebook account again

How did I create my facebook account? One day I feel that I want to create one. So I created one. Maybe all the four reason above have been in my subconsciousness for a while which triggger the action of creating facebook account again.

Ok since I have a facebook account again. You can friend me on facebook or you can un-friend anytime if you are not comfortable. I know most of the people don't connect with someone anonymous (without profile picture). I respect that. I do not share my picture or my family picture inside, and I do not spent my time browsing your and your family pictures too.

Four injured in shopping mall blast in Subang

SUBANG JAYA: Four people were injured while more than 300 people rescued and evacuated when an explosion occurred inside an eatery at the Empire Subang here early Wednesday.

Four people, who were also trapped in the lower ground floor of the shopping complex that also houses a boutique hotel, were rescued by firemen from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department.

The 3.45am gas tank explosion that happened at the outlet located on the lower ground floor also damaged two other floors of the complex.

The injured, including a Nepali security guard and a local, who sustained cuts caused by falling shattered glass, were sent to the hospital for treatment.

Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department station chief Mohd Khairi Daud said firemen from Subang Jaya were assisted by their colleagues from PJ and surrounding areas in evacuating the hotel guests numbering more than 300 people.Firemen said the damage was extensive.The explosion had destroyed and broke through the concrete floor on the lower ground floor. It also caused damages to the office block and studio apartment next to it.Firemen are now checking the building structure to ensure its safety.

Adsense Goes Social With +1 Button

I just read an email from Adsense Team. Next month .. Google will enroll +1 button and personal recommendation for google adsense for content and adsense for mobile content . Google is now going to use +1 button as a social signal to determine the relevency of ads displayed displayed.

Agree or not?

I just visited Inside Adsense Blog. Some publisher are looks very interested in the idea and some are not. As for me I personally think this is a great idea. It is an interesting idea on how to make an ads goes social.

However, I believe the Google Plus user will feel the same sentiment as twitter user when Magpie, a third party twitter advertising (Now acquired by Sponsoredtweets) first started to publish ads to twitter timeline.

One more thing, I wonder will the addition of + 1 button will make google adsense the same with Facebook Ads or will it be more towards twitter ads?

Anyway, publishers can always login to adsense account to opt out. I am not oing to opt out. What about you?

Jomhosting.net Hacked?

Jomhosting.net one of the cheapest hosting provider in Malaysia is hacked. Today I tried to visit jomhosting.net but suddenly received this popup.

When I clicked OK, it shows a flash presentation starting with ...

Follows by .. showing of the hackers nick name .. . I do not watch the flash presentation until the end.

What I can say is now nothing is secure. I still can access the client area login page. But decided not to login.

Hopefully Jomhosting can rectify the problem as soon as possible.

More Serious In Blogging

It takes me quite some time playing around, testing here and there .. I think its time to me to be more serious in blogging. Blogging takes a lot of time, so it is really important to achieve certain target in blogging.

1. Aweber Email Marketing

I just subscribed to Aweber email marketing. I do subscribed before but for USD1 trial only and stopped halfway. Email marketing will be one of the strategy to get traffic.

2. Migrating Zulseffort.com to other hosting provider

In order to be more focus, my main Bahasa Melayu Blog must be hosted at a hosting provider with better reliability. One of my problem is to have more time writing and tweaking blog. I cannot afford to lost my posts due to any reason. It was very troublesome.

Today, I visit one of my website based on wordpress, and the website is hacked by Ra7aL Hacker. This is the screenshot.

Luckily the website is still under development, which mean that there are no much content , I made a quick Google Search, it seems that other local blogger are hacked too. Being hacked is a normal thing today. However, I hate this hacker because of the screen shot. I dont really know whether the hackers are Muslim or not, or whether he/she/they is really from Saudi Arabia. But he/she/they better do no relate this unethical hacking to Islam.

I asked my friend who work in internet security industry before about hacking, he said that no matter what is the purpose, hacking is unethical unless the hacker ask and get the permission before hacking.

While I am browsing the HyppTV news Headline today, there are a few headlines picked my interest, to name a few - issues Pet Hotel Operators, Mat Indera , Haze , CO2 Emmission. However there are a headlines that really attract my attention.

"6% Service Tax on Prepaid Reloads and Starter Pack "

KUALA LUMPUR : Those buying prepaid reloads and prepaid starter/SIM packs
will be charged a 6% service tax from Sept 15.

Not a good news. Another burden.

I am a post paid user and have been already charged by 6% tax so its not an issue for me. My postpaid bill is RM53 instead RM50. Because the RM3 is from the tax. So I am not worrying about me. My bill suits my phone usage.

I am worried about my father, my in law, and my wife whom using prepaid.

What does 6% means?

If you buy RM10.00 topup it will cost you RM10.60. It is quite a lot of money to spend. In term of percentage it is quite high. If you put RM10.00 in ASB , you will not get RM0.60 straight away.

Maybe some of you who have lot of money does not care about the cost. But from what I see, people go for prepaid to save more money.

I am quite shocked to watch the youtube video of the Robbery Incident at Section 15 Shah Alam. The The robbers wearing helmet and some of them with a parang are very fast like it is a well planned action. Or maybe because it is easy to enter and leave the Restaurant.

They rob away laptops. Laptop is an obvious target since it is quite expensive and it has became a culture for some Malaysia to use available free wifi provided by restaurant.

I am feel relieved since my home is already equipped with Unifi. Yesterday afternoon, I just cancelled my broadband account , I am not as mobile as before and it is better since it is quite risky to be mobile. More reason to stay at home.

If I must online outside, I need to choose a restaurant with harder access and avoid open environment.

For those who have laptop, remember that your laptop is more valuable than money, your work, assignment, maybe private photo are there. Be extra careful.

How to Choose Which Idea to Focus On

Most of the time we have a lot of idea. Having many ideas are certainly good, because it shows that our brain is still working. However having too many ideas can be quite troublesome. We must remember that ideas is left as ideas until it is implemented. From many ideas only certain idea can be implemented. Trying to implement all ideas can lead to no focus. While FOCUS is an important factor in determining the success of certain idea realization. In this short post, I'll be sharing on How I choose to work on which idea to FOCUS ON.

Idea Brainstorming

The first step to choose for which ideas to work on, is to write it down.Having a lot of idea in our head can cluttered our mind. By writing it down we can throw everything in our mind into a piece of paper. When writing ideas, do not ever thinking about whether the ideas are logical or not, whether it can be achieve or not. Keep it simple, just write down the ideas.

Simple Pro And Cons Analysis

After idea brainstorming , usually we will have a lot of written ideas. Time to select the idea? Not yet. A best decision is made by a person with information. Do not rush, write down Simple Pro and Cons of each idea WITHOUT comparing an idea to another idea. I usually made a simple Advantages and Disadvantages list of each idea. When writing pro and cons do not think too much. Just write down anything that pop-up in our mind. Example: If you dont know much about the idea yet, just write it at the disadvatages part - "Not Knowing Much". If you are more analytical person you can do SWOT analysis or any other decision making tool.

Filtering

Now we should have the advatages disadvatages, pro and cons so it is easier to filter out the ideas which is cannot be done currently. We can divide the idea into categories such as REJECTED, KIV, ACCEPTABLE.

To make the decision, take a look at the PRO and CONS. By doing this filtering, we should have a shorlisted idea which likely can be implemented. Now focus on the short listed idea.

Methodology

We have a shorlisted idea which can be implemented. However, to implement ideas, it should be done methodologically. Hence it is important to write down the method to achieve the ideas. By writing the method, it is easier to choose one or two short listed idea to be implemented. You can choose which idea to implement by looking at how clear the method are, how easy to achieve the target, do the method consume a lot of time and any other factor which some of it are unique to each individual. Sometimes the method are quite similar between one idea and other idea. Then "Its Killing Two Bird with One Stone"

Focus and Work on It

Now we should have one or two idea with an easier or clearer implementation methodology. Stop focusing about other ideas for a while.Time to focus on the idea!

More Doing and Less Talking err Blogging

I do agree with Kak Jie who left a comment saying blogging is related to feeling. That is absolutely one of the reason why I am not actively blogging in recent months.

There are also another reason why I am not actively blogging lately. I am doing a lot of other thing rather than blogging. Blogging is good for me to report on something that I found in the net or maybe the result of some experiment. But sometimes, and for me, most of the time, doing things are better than talking excessively. In my case blogging excessively. In real life I am a serious person when I am doing something. Mainly because I cannot focus two unrelated things at the same time. I can do thing without talking to anyone for hours.

Last weekend , I got a good discussion with my wife in her future project err.. its not a big project just targeting for small business from home. One of the main topic during discussion is how to effectively use the internet to get return customer. She have a small business before , selling One Drop Perfumes online. Get some experience and good return. Stopped due to busy schedule when her office transferred her to "very busy" department. Now she quit job, and we are heading for new project. We are not rushing though =).

Last week @JawsIsmail asked me about my projects, how it is going right now? Assuming he was asking about my project regarding blog , tweets and making money online, I gave a simple answer of "Stopped for A while".

Yes, all my projects are right now pending and behind target. There are a lot of things happened which consume most of my time and energy. Things I cannot avoided because it involved my real job and also my family.

If you are following my other blogs you will notice that all my blogs are not frequently updated. This include the niche blogs. A not updated niche blog is not a good niche blog. However , I do follow closely on the current development and news of my niche area.

A friend asking me for twitter training and there are few friends asking for C programming lesson. Regretfully, for now I am not going to help them even if I am getting paid to do it. Let me get my self into the track first. Sorry for not being a helpful person.

Okay I thinks that all I want to write for today. Hopefully. I can get on track as fast as I can.

Its already June 2011, The last post here at this blog is on February 2011. This blog has been silent for quite a long time.

The reason?

I can give a lot of reason on why this blog is not updated, but I prefer not to give any of it. Let just say that I have nothing to write here during that time. Maybe the better reason is because I lost the reason to write here, its better for me to take a leave from this blog for a while. Which I did that.

There are a lot of thing happening in my life during that short period of time. Its 4 months but its still a short period when you are fully occupied. Trust me, or just trust the relativity theory

This question has been disturbing my head. What should I write here. I am no gurus of anything. Should I write about technology? Chess? Book I read? (Yes I read a lot of book! ), my not so interesting personal life? I just leave this question unanswered.

Maybe, I'll just update this blog with anything inspirational that at least inspire me to move forward positively.

Skip Chess Tournament Again This Year

This 5 March 2011, there will be a Team Tournament at Universiti Malaya - Tun Syed Zahiruddin Chess Open. However once again I have to say no to this tournament. I received a call from Cikgu Sudin, Sunday last week about forming a team, but sadly I had to refuse his invitation.

Chess Team

A chess team usually consists of 6 players. With 4 main players and 2 reserve players. Team players are arranged according to board numbers, 1st Board, 2nd Board, 3rd Board and so on. Usually our team send 5 players in UM Team Tournament. Or in worst case scenario, we are sending 4 players with no reserve, the one who are not playing usually is yours truly here.

However, this year it will be a little bit hard for our team, we are short one player. Not just me, but our teammate , Cikgu Hafez also unable to play in the tournament. It left the team with only three players. I hope Cikgu Sudin can find the player as soon as possible. Too bad, my friend @mindacatur usually plays for other team.

More Quality Time

I have to skip the tournament because this year I am trying to get MORE quality time with my family. Eventually, weekend is the best time to spent time with them. I do want to play chess too, hopefully I can play in Merdeka Event this year.

Hrm, look like the book "Work Less, Achieve More - Great Ideas to get Your Life Back" will stay as my main time management reference this year.

Problem Renewing Insurance and Road Tax For 16 - 20 years old Car

I successfully renewed my car insurance and roadtax, it is a Proton Wira 1.6 , made in year 1993. So it means that its already 18 years old.

MyEG do not accept old car

This year I was trying to renew the roadtax and insurance online with MyEg, I successfully renewed my Perodua Viva road tax and insurance conveniently last year. Everything can be done online and the roadtax was delivered to my house. However, the same thing does not happened, for the case of the car aged 16 - 20 years old. MyEg only accept car which are not more than 10 years old.

Kurnia Insurance Does Not Accept 16-20 years old car

Since MyEG is no more an option. I called Kurnia Insurans, to renew insurance. However, I am being told, that Kurnia does not accept cars aged 16 - 20. According to that careline person, I need to contact their agent, and then the agent will decide whether I can renew my insurance with Kurnia or not. There are probability that the agent will take a look at my car's condition , and taking some pictures of my car It seems complicated to me. I guess its just normal and logical for them to do like that.

I don't like complicated thing, so after some search online, I learn that its true Kurnia Insurance does not accept cars above 15 years. So the option is to switch to another insurance.

Try Etiqa

Yesterday I renewed my insurance with Etiqa, through the agent at alamanda, Putrajaya. The agent told me that , if let say my car is already more than 20 years. I have no choice but to purchase third party insurance - Very good info!

Today, I renewed the roadtax at JPJ Bangi. Their service? Excellent! Very fast.

Although it seems that I am doing a lot of work just to renew the car roadtax, I am not feeling stress at all. Thanks to nice people at Kurnia Insurance, MyEg , the Insurance Agent at Alamanda and also JPJ staff at JPJ Bangi. Thanks for answering all my questions.

Lesson of the story:

1. You cant renew roadtax with myeg if your cars is already more than 10 years.

2. Some insurance are not accepting cars with age 16-20. But we can find another insurance.

3. Renewing insurance and roadtax is not hard as long as we know the procedure.

This is told by my busy friend who make adsense money of more than $100 per year from his blog which not updated regularly. $100 a year? It is too little, but many are struggling at adsense. Trust me. I myself never cashout from adsense even once.

Since he is a part time forex player and full time electrical engineer he has no much time to take care of his blog and yet he make $100 per year. A passive income of $100 per year!

So I asked him the tip. He explained about keyword research which every SEO and Make Money blogger should do. Its all about numbers. How many are searching the keyword, how many search result appears for the keyword, and how much is the prize for that keyword.

At the end of the session, he said ...

"everything is all about traffic which is numbers, and the traffic also depends on the SEO and also the number of post. Just imagined you have 1000 seo optimized post. Let say only average 1 visitor/post are visiting everyday, so there are already 1000 visitors"

Its about Thomas Edison inventing the bulb. As I can remember the story is about Thomas Edison, have so much failure before successfully inventing the lightbulb. The story until now inspired me. I am going to tell the truth. I failed a lot, I feel the pain of failed something, but once again I know that I always learn new thing. Of course the people around me dont know what I learn, they will keep judging me. But, thats life.

Having said that, as a "club level" chess player (self - claimed) , I learn a lot from playing chess as hobby and from experience playing chess in local tournament. Although I am not joining any chess tournament for past 2 years, I still contacted my chess friends to play one or two games once for a while. For your information , most of my chess friends are highly motivated and competitive in nature which make me believe that chess and self development are related.

Reviving @ContestMy - myonlinecontest

Okay. Some of you may already realized that I have another blog just for contest. Yes. I love joining contest for fun if and only if I have free time and the contests suits me. In 2009 and early 2010, as example, I won quite a few prizes such as from RajaKamil's Top commenter contest , denaihatis commenter contest, WanMus's Post review contests and many more.

If you want to make some pocket money and sometimes other cool prizes online while having some fun, joining contests is definitely a good way to start your journey. It can prove to yourself that

Receiving Orders are Really Hard and Dissappointing

This week I learn from experience of how hard of executing orders especially from the one you respect and older than you.

I got a phone call asking me to do something. I did have the uneasy feeling and wanted to reject it first but it hards since he is one of few persons that I respect most. Reluctant to say NO, I accepted the order and promise to do what he want me to do.

Eventually after promising to fulfill the wish, suddenly deep in my heart I realize that what I will be doing is a waste of time, which mean a not efficient way of doing thing. Its also an added weight to the burden that I already have. Furthermore it is in form of orders telling me to do thing without asking my opinion.

I believe one of you sometimes, trapped in this kind of situation, sometimes the order are from the teacher, your parents, elder brother or sisters, someone who helped you before , close friends, boyfriend or girl friend , wife or husband, and other relevant people in your life. Its feel like you are consumed in the problem while the one giving orders does not understand your feeling.

So with this experience, it make me realize not to give orders to my beloved one. We can give encouragement but not by ordering other people around. Imagine a few set of dialog below from your respected person asking you doing something you are reluctant to do.

a) I want you to do this , this and that.

b) Can you spent some time helping me. We are going to this together. You are going to do this and this and I'm going to do this.

c) Can you spend some time helping me. We are going to this together, what is your opinion in solving this problem?

If let say you can choose the dialog which one is your choice? If let say you are a boss or leader, which one is your dialog?

Okay, I maybe day dreaming today... :)

Okay! Back to the problem, If you are trapped with the situation that I mentioned earlier, what will you do?

Thanks @anarmnet for updating me with the news on Pagerank Update! At last Zulseffort [dot]net have pagerank. Its not much - PR2 only. However, its still a good value for this blog.

The Pagerank of this blog used to be PR3 (with .blogspot extension) then drop to N/A after this blog get a new domain with .net extension and now the Pagerank is PR2! Its better than having no Pagerank at all.

Are pagerank really really important?

According to @ariffshah its only one of the many parameters (200) which determines the Google Search Engine Result Page (SERP). For Malaysian you can read the guest post by ariffshah at @denaihati's blog here.

Personally, although its only one of the factor, I still feel that having a pagerank is a good sign for a blog. Do you agree?

My friends are tweeting about this facebook will be closed news, actually the news is a hoax one. The website writing the news I believe is a site writing Hoax News according to Blogtechnical.com.

Spending Time Offline NOT Connected **

Hello All! :) I am back after near two weeks.

I have a practice to spend time offline. Usually I took a leave from my work and off course from my own laptop for one week or two weeks every year, sometimes if I have more budget it will be several times off my Offline time for that particular year . Its may sound silly for some person, but for me it works well to boost my motivation.

My reason for taking leave from work and online activities is simple - to take a good rest and after that I can restart fresh.

This year I am in tight budget, so I don't take any vacation to go visiting other places, just staying at my hometown doing something not related to online activities.

FYI, I have a lot of activities online - playing travian, tweeting, blogging, emailing friends, web surfing, website, reading manga and many more. All these activities consumes a lot of my free time.

So, I think taking "online leave" is way to be fair to my self.

No Such Thing as Fail in Blogging *

When I started this blog last year. At that time I am still a newbie, now I am still a newbie because there are always new things in blogging. Okay as a newbie blogger that time, I always read on how to be a successful blogger. A lot of tips on blogging, traffic, writing are available online, written by other bloggers.

I like to read about things related to being successful in blogging. However, there are some tips that I don't like to read. Specifically the post related to fail in blogging. How not to fail in blogging, why new blogger fail in blogging, etc etc.

I can buy the idea of being successful in blogging, but fail in blogging....? No!

There are several reason why 'failing in blogging' is not relevant (According to me)

Blogging is not an exam - its not an exam like our exam. No teachers and lecturer are going to mark you blogging skill and give you a grade. So no F grade, guys.
With blogging, we improve our self - Blogging improves our writing skill, website/blog design skill and maybe increase the size of our network. Is it called a fail?
What is the benchmark of failing in blogging - Money? Traffic? Comment Count? Tell me. Yes, I agree, this benchmark has been used to show that someone is successful, but no benchmark for failing, right?
Blogging is easy - Blogging is easy, setup a blog and start writing and publish it, Its just impossible to fail.
Dare to fail? - Have you ever heard of dare to fail? If people are talking about dare to fail in life and business, so for blogging which we won't fail anyway, why bother thinking about not to fail in blogging. Try dare to success!

Okay, some people may not agree with me. But this is just my opinion. Blogging is plain easy and simple. You may fail to achieve your target to get several thousand a month from blogging or to get several thousand traffic a day. But you will not fail in blogging.

Keep blogging if you already have a blog. Make a blog if you don't have one. Its fun to write.

Twitter Tip: Be Careful When Scheduling Tweets **

Scheduled Tweets

Scheduled Tweets is a way to improve productivity in twitter. I believe it is widely used by Internet Marketer and any company who utilize twitter for bussines. I also scheduled my tweet sometime although I am not an Internet Marketer or running any bussiness.

A lot of thing can be scheduled, maybe a reminder to your friend or yourself, good morning tweets, FollowFriday Tweet , Blog Post and anything relevant. However there are some cases happened when the tweet is not correctly scheduled. E.g it is posted at the wrong time like the example below.

Example

The tweet is in Malay. Its a good morning tweet posted at 6:58pm (4). For you info Selamat pagi (1), is how we say good morning in Malay.

Luckily the guy who managed the company account noticed it and deleted the message immediately.

Owh. Actually he/she is not lucky enough. The message was noticed and retweeted by my friend.

By The way, the purpose of this blog post is not to highlight other people's mistake. It can also happened to us anyway.This is just a precaution for us who scheduled our tweet.

In this case its not a big issue anyway. Just a morning tweet. But what if, the tweet is about an important event. Here the company immediately deleted the tweet. What if let say we are not connected to twitter when an important scheduled tweet is sent to twitter stream at a wrong time?

Tweet is viral in nature, a tweet can be retweeted, and a retweet can also be retweeted.. again and again. So you can imagine the effect, right?

I have one question, let say this thing happened to us, should we delete the tweet or should we send a tweet saying sorry. Any idea?

As a response to the price hike, I can either cut my budget or find more money. Being an Internet savvy I am, the first thought in my head obviously is to make more money online.

Make Money Tweeting is too much competition right now, especially from twitter promoted ads itself. I see some of my friend who used to earn via third party ads network now offering twitter marketing solution or doing the advertisement on their own and getting paid more money. Telling the truth I am not yet ready for that. I know what it takes to do that kind of self promotion.

Ah! Wait! I have adsense and blog too. Maybe I can earn with adsense!

So I take a look at my adsense account, which I don't care much before. Just to see how much money accumulated in my adsense account until now.

How much?

So Much.

Now I have $37.01 , I need another $62.99 to cashout.

Last 30 days I earn about $1.78

To get $62.99 - I need another $62.99/$1.78 = 35.38 ... months!

#Fail!

RON97 New Price - RM2.30 **

RON97 price hike effective today 1st December 2010. with the increase of RM0.15 per litre. Now the new price for RON97 is RM2.30. Telling the truth I'm personally not happy with the increase.

Why?

Obviously. Because I filled up my Perodua Viva and my wife's Satria Neo with RON97 . Yeah some people can say that I should use RON95 since the cars are not 'Rich People Car'.

From my experience of using RON97 with the price RM2.15 (before) , it is less costly compared to RON95. Although RON95 price is cheaper, but in term of fuel consumption it cost more.

Further more, I'm using this RON97 because of an advice from a workshop.

With the new price of RM2.30 , I don't know whether I should stick with RON97 or switch to RON95.

Guest Blogging

Hey, did you do any guest blogging? I guess some of you maybe have a lot experience on being a guest blogger. I'm still a newbie though. I just sent a blog post to my friend's blog denaihati.com. Which is scheduled to be published this 19 November.

Actually I get the invitation earlier this year. However, that time , aside from my bad time management, I too do not have enough courage to be a guest blogger at any blog. But not any more.. thanks to blogging, my confidence level are higher.

Why being a guest blogger is an important step in blogging?

For me personally, it is some kind of achievement showing that my writing either writing style or content are accepted by others. Being accepted is a great gift! Especially if it is at local influencer's blog. Another bonus is to get more traffic to blog due to more influence. Its also another way to establish niche, or also a good escape place to write something not related to your niche. The main point is by being a guest we can reach out to more people.

So what is the benefit to blog owner?

Of course it is a win-win situation. Guest blogging not only give benefit to the guest blogger but also to the blog owner. My malay blog on make money tweeting and twitter tips have a first post from a famous local blogger. Great!

Okay. Telling the truth I'm not good in writing tutorial and instructional post. I found out that tutorial post will be good and beneficial to my blog visitor. Instead of investing (if not wasting) a lot of time writing the post. Its better to focus of what I CAN and let other people sharing it in my blog. Other than that it s also a prove that other blogger trust my blog to host their content!

To conclude, guest blogging is good for both the blog owner and also the guest blogger. This is my experience, which is very shallow compared to yours. So, what is your opinion about guest blogging? Care to share your experience? I'm going to learn a lot from you.

I seldom check my blog analytics. The reason is very easy. My blog is not that popular. I'm writing in this blog just to keep my self to write.

Of course you can see some ads at my blog and will keep you thinking that I'm making money from blog. The truth is I'm not. I mean... not yet =) .

Okay. Today somehow, I checked the blogger analytics, amazed to see that there are still visits to my old posts. The KB Mall Accident . The keyword to that page is "Gambar Kemalangan".

I checked the referral link, owh.. its from yahoo images.

There are also another referral from Google. So I checked it too. But this time its shows another picture NOT from my blog. The pictures are scary. It make me wonder why people are searching for gambar kemalangan?

Last Saturday. I went to Popular and MPH at OneUtama.

I took a look at twitter related book. So many! Most of it on how to utilize twitter for marketing , getting rich bla..bla..

One of the book are so simple- priced of RM35 ++ for some basic on facebook and twitter. I took a brief look. Wow! I already know about this.. this is too simple. I'm amazed of how simple the content are.

Okay. Please not mistaken. I am NOT criticizing the price at all. For me the price is fair. Because there are demands. Not from a blogger and twitterer like me and you who have been tweeting for a while, but from a lot more potential customer out there who only heard about the word "twitter" or maybe have some very basic know-how on using it. .

Further more, this is very important point for me to take note.

WRITER'S WRITE

They can express what they understand in words and sentence which can be easily understood by others. They can convey knowledge very well.

The difference from me and them is they write and I don't. I know a lot of things but I don't write. I want to write (in my blog) but I didn't have time. Actually its not that I don't have time, it just I don't have a good time management.

Owh. Just to share, instead of buying twitter related book, I bought a book entitled "Work Less Achieve More" written by Fergus O'Connel. He is a project management expert and the book is really interesting, it encourages on achieving "doing nothing instead of doing a lot of things". I did a speed reading and going to implement the techniques in my daily life.

Fergus is also a writer (obviously, right?). Yeah. One of my goals is to be a writer. To do that I need to have good time management skill.

By the way I want to share you my favorite dance, although I never do that dance. Watching the video make my busy life more cheerful!

It is called as algorithm dance, or algorithm march. I dont want to write much. This explanation is according to wikipedia :

Jack of All Trade

I have been thinking about outsourcing lately. I believe that one way to do a lot of job and to achieve a lot of thing is by others people help. I am not Jack of All Trade . I am not expert of everything. Yes! I want to be expert of everything but sometimes I just need to admit that I need to focus on what I can accomplished for sure and outsource some hard job to my friends who are expert in that area.

Interesting Experience

My first online income (other than winning contest) is by getting a job outsourced by others. My first earning is USD0.05 for a very simple job. Interesting experience!

I am now outsourcing some of my online job to a few friends and relatives. I cannot pay much, but as long as and they agree to take the job for some pocket money, I think it will be okay.

I believe outsourcing can be a very interesting experience. This is where win-win situation need to be applied. The outsourcing cost must be in my budget, but at the same time it should be fair to my friend or relatives who took the job.

I also believe that by outsourcing there will be more opportunity of networking and focus on what we are good at. However , honesty and trustworthiness are very important factor.

A lot to learn

In first meeting with Jaws and Anarm, I shared about twittering and a little bit on making money with twitter advertising network. Jaws is a local internet marketer who do personal coaching on blogging and also affiliate marketing. For me it is just a knowledge sharing session with both of them.

Since I am a curious person. Before we went home that night. I asked a question to him.

"You are experienced in personal coaching, how much usually you charged a person for the knowledge sharing like I did tonight? "

He told me that it depends , sometimes he charge about RM150 for this kind of informal session.

Hrm not bad... not bad ...

Surprise

A few days after the meeting, Jaws sent me message stating that there are person who want to learn twitter related matters and willing to pay for it!

Woooaaa.. seriously? How much should I charge for this very informal coaching? RM150? Maybe not ! This is the first time I am conducting this kind of course. My wife suggest the price of RM100. I am going to charge lower than that for the first job.

I got experience in other personal coaching and electronic design when I was a student. The charge are quite high but it is related to electronic design CAD software which is quite reasonable.

But - Twitter?

Actually I feel quite awkward to accept the job. Its not about the pay. But I just feel unsure what to teach. However since I am told that this guy are really interested in learning I just cannot simply ignore his request.

In the personal coaching, my plan is simple , first to get to know the student's level. Its going to be very informal and practical based on his knowledge.

Yerps! As the topic says.. the blogosphere have a lot of negative things. Namely troll. Blogwalking is not as fun as before.

What is troll you may ask? According to Wikipedia :

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response^[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.^[2] In addition to the offending poster, the noun “troll” can also refer to the provocative message itself, as in that was an excellent troll you posted. Pandemic

One thing about negative blog post is that, it is easily spread compared to a very positive blog post? Why?

let say A write a negative thing about B. B get angry and write a "counter attack" post. A and B supporters who read the post written in A and B start to spread the news , maybe in a blogpost, or maybe using twitter and facebook. we can see a Viral Marketing in action. Viral Marketing is good for selling product, but not for this case where the virus called hatred can be easily spreading and weaken or even blacken your heart.

Join Positive Groups

Last week I have a late night blogger meet up with Jaws and Anarm. We are also talking about this matter. Too much negative influence can effect the mood to blog. I said to Jaws that luckily I join a group of bloggers who really having fun blogging.

I have another blog, not so serious blog. It is about making money with twitter. Rarely updated, but that is where I write tips an news on make money with twitter.

Originally, I bought the domain MoneyTweet.Info for sole purpose of using adsense for domain. Until at one time I am having the urge to talk about make money with twitter. Just to throw out my ideas on that.

Back to Ratu the Icon

Ratu is not very active and not so playful cat, but she is very observant. When observing a lizard or frog as example she can stay for hours just observing . Less play but more observation.

Eh ? Lizard does not have relation with twitter.

Okay,

One day there is a bird in our house. Of course the bird sit high enough , Ratu would never get to go near the bird. As expected, Ratu was sitting for hours staring at the bird. If you are looking at Ratu at that moment, the situation looked very very pitiful, its like when you want to achieve something that you will never get. But knowing Ratu's habit , we just left Ratu there until she get bored.

Owh.. Too bad , my digital camera was not with me that time.

Owh as you can see in the picture , Ratu like coins too ... . The picture is taken before Raya Last year where me and wife preparing the coins for duit raya.While we are busy counting the coins , Ratu is busy playing with it!

Cartoon Version of Ratu ?

Having said that.. I am thinking of having a cartoon version of Ratu thinking of money and birds. It will be a good icon. When? I don't know, blogging is my passion but I am working 8 to 5 and sometimes more than that!

Halloooo...

Its already 10:36 PM of 31st May when I am start writing this blog post. Time sure flies so fast. Actually I have a target to write a lot of blog post this month, which I am not able to achieve it.

Last week I am very occupied with work that require me to spend a lot of time looking at the computer monitor. Some report to write, some form to be filled in, and some program to debug. Since I already spent a lot of time looking at the monitor, and the tiredness of the work, I decide not to spend my time blogging or even twittering. Okay, I lied! I still had a look at my blogs and twitter accounts, but with very short time. :)

Hrmm... look like I am not achieving my target to have a lot of blog post this month. But its okay, telling the truth having joining the FCC, Music Monday, Fluffy Friday and meeting new blogger friends who like simple and fun thing made my month! :)

In my other blog (Malay language) I write about the reason I quit facebook. I am not in facebook anymore - for good! There are only two posts regarding the issue, another one post (maybe) to wrapped up the issue?
Today is quit facebook day! But I already quit last week... :)

I also accomplished a lot of thing this month, more savings, and better work performance.

Busy month but a fruitful one!

Owh.. next month will be busier, haha..

By the way, I am still feeling a little bit unwell right now, going out now to have some healthy foods. :)

Mind Block , Mind Map and Subconscious Mind?

Lately I have this kind of mind block, to write blog post, to write report, even to plan for my daily activities, some thing is bugging me which I don't really know what is..

To every problem there must be solutions. This is what I usually do..

Mind Mapping - Yes this is my favourite technique. By doing mind mapping it help me to let go all of my ideas in a sheet of paper without judging whether the idea is good or not. My personality test shows that I hate structure, for me a situation when everything too perfectly structured will some how put a limit in my mind. Thats why I guess mind mapping is very suitable to me. However last night I can't even finish my mind map.
Talk to my friend - When mind mapping does not work, it just shows that our mind is not in a calm state. I need to calm my mind, sometimes to calm a mind, help is needed. One of the many way that I usually do is to talk to one of my best friend, my ex-classmate. What I like about him is, he is quite philosophical. Usually we just talking about anything unrelated to the subject.

Last night, I met him and having a very good conversation. The conversation is about roughly one hour. Ranging from, why China win the badminton, good restaurant to eat, about daily life, exchanging ideas and knowledge on how to calm our mind and many more. However, in our conversation last night, he said an important point about getting ideas.

" If it is so hard to get ideas, why don't we explore our subconscious mind?"

When Chess Player become Blogger

Blitz is so fun!

I was a chess player. Used to play in local tournaments here in Malaysia. Now I am still a chess player , but not as active as two years back.

When I was an active player, Chess Night Fever is normal. We "club level chess player" regularly organized our own blitz mini tournament. The time control is 5 minutes per player (10 minutes per game) . The fun usually continues until 3 am or 4 am. We not just playing but also analyzing games.

Crazy, right?

So what happened when a chess player started to blog?

Last night , I have a meetup with mindacatur's owner. He just started his blog. We met at a 24-hour McD restaurant at 11.40 pm after watching the heart beating thomas cup.

I asked a question,

"Sam, did you bring your chess set ? "

I am quite shocked to hear the answer.

"No! Tonight is for blogging "

And you know what? We stay up until 4am. He is so passionate with his chess blog!

Me? Updated my blog post and able to finish some work. ^_^

Time sure flies fast... it is now 3rd May 2010. Hrm.. there are a lot of thing happened around me which occupied my time, and I am really busy to focus on this blog. Hulu Selangor by-election #HS #P94

I arrived home at 8.00 pm driving from my in law house at Hulu Bernam , Hulu Selangor where the by-election take place. The by-election of Hulu Selangor has ended today at 5.00 pm , where about 75% of the voters cast their votes.

The ministers and people from outside are coming full force to give support and work for their parties. Hulu Selangor flooded with more people. The situation was so lively with a lot of events and posters.

The good thing about more people coming is when there are more people, they will be source of income for the Hulu Selangor folks.

In Hulu Bernam, I heard rumour of a house rented for RM2000 for the 8 days campaign. Some of youngsters also get money for helping to put banners and posters. Today some of the folks get some money paid per trip, just for picking up the voters to the voting area. The restaurants, coffee shops and food stalls got lot more customers for the whole week.

Thats it for the lively week of by-election campaign. Tomorrow, Hulu Bernam will go back to normal peaceful live.

Tonight, the result has been announced, and as expected, Malaysian twitterers are busy tweeting about the by-election results. This is some of the tweets from twitter search.

Usually, as appreciation, the commenter are given reward by the blogger. From my blogwalking activities and observations, I have seen may way to reward blog commenter, listed here is some of it!

1. Reply to Comments

Replying to comments is the basic method as an appreciation for their comments. It shows that a blogger want to interact with their visitor.

2. You Comment I Comment

Another way to do is by commenting back. If a blogger appreciate our content, it will be nice if we can appreciate theirs. Personally, I am not good at commenting back , but at least I visited their blog and drop comments if I have any idea on what to write.

3. Comments in Post

This is one of my favourite! If some good comments are related to the post, why not we quote the comment. If your commenter ask questions and if the answer are lengthy, why dont we answer it in a blog post?

4. Linky Love - Commentluv

When a bloggger use a commentluv plugin, its shows that he or she really want to appreciate all the commenter. I use the wordpress plugin for my malay blog. For blogger platform, the commenting system that supports the commentluv is IntenseDebate. I hope disqus can support commentluv in near future. Some of the blog listed in my blogroll have commentluv, check it out.

5. Commenter at the Sidebar

An appreciation for your die-hard commenters. A list/widget of top commenter , top first commentator etc with backlink to their blog. From what I observed, there are a lot of blog that have the top commenter widget.

It can be for the 38888th commenter as I recently saw in Hidup Biar Sedap , or it can be a lucky draw. Its up to you :)

Okay! Have you check your Google Pagerank (PR) ? The PR has been updated 31/3/2010 as predicted by many bloggers. This blog got PR3 but Not Available! How come ?

Eventually the old url of this blog is now PR3.

But recently I just upgraded this blog with a new url http://zulseffort.net where there are no PR available for this domain yet.

Its not a big deal and its is expected. The disqus commenting in this blog also affected when upgrading blogspot URL to custom domain. The previous comment are still pointed to the old url instead of new url. Only the new comments are visible in this blog.

After I learn the basics I really feel that I need to learn more advance thing about twitter. How to gain influence as example. I do download some free ebook to learn twitter, bought some e-book , reading tips in blog and so on.

Now I have been twittering for a while but I'm still learning. I read articles and guides about following , following back, tweeting ads is okey, tweeting ads is evil, what not to tweet, what to tweet, what make me losing followers, what make me gaining followers , celebrities etc etc. Twitter guide? There are a lot! Ask Google!

However the more I read and learn , ironically I goes to the basic conclusion -

My twitter account is mine, and your twitter account is yours!

Really! There are no right or wrong as long as you do tweet and communicate. You can follow how many people , its up to you! You can tweet how much you want! Its up to you! You can tweet any topic you want .. its really up to you! You can have your own method and you are responsible for it.

The key for me is : "Just be yourself and keep improving yourself (and your twitter account )"

So the guides are nonsense?

A big NO! The guides are not nonsense, people write guides based on their experiences and knowledge and some of it with their experiments.

"If my twitter accounts is mine", is it okay if I don't read guides?

Its up to you! But for me, I'm still reading. I believe that the key is to keep improving and to improve I need knowledge but its up to me to follow or not.

Eh? What about followers then, I will lose a lot of followers by not following some guides...

Believe me you are unique but still you have some similarities or common interest with others , you are not alone. Choose what works and what is suitable for you.

I am really happy since I am going to cashout from sponsored tweet soon. Sponsored tweets is one of my favourite make money twitter program. Not because it is easy to get money not because I am going to be rich make money from it but because I like the system. It is fair system for both advertiser and the publisher.

Make money using sponsoredtweets , If you are thinking that make money with sponsored tweets only require just writing the tweet and get money. Think again! Advertisers are people, they invest money to get good or at least reasonable return of investment.
